Let the nerd flag fly!

We're coming up to my second favorite time of the year (my first favorite being Christmas). A time I call Geek Season.

For me, it will start in April with the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books: always a fun occasion, giving me the chance to hobnob with fellow book freaks and do maybe just a smudge of shopping (you there in the back, stop laughing).

For an extra bonus this year, in May I'll be attending not one but TWO performances of Roger Waters and his band doing The Wall. And I have floor seats for both shows (15th row for San Diego, 25th row for L.A.). Cannot wait!

June will provide a much-needed break, but then comes July and the ever-awesome San Diego Comic-Con. No clue who will be there as of yet (though I'm desperately hoping for some representation from Hunger Games, Prometheus, Game of Thrones, and Castle) but that doesn't matter. What matters is that Comic-Con lets me hang around with like-minded souls, and for once I don't have to explain myself or my tastes in things.

If you'll be at any of these places, let me know and we can say howdy.
